The benefits of oil injection on prototype models
Prototype oil injection is a surface treatment process commonly used in prototype processing. Prototype oil spraying is divided into matte, semi-matte and bright according to the surface brightness. To make a prototype for proofing, in addition to good CNC and replica molding equipment, it also requires a lot of post-processing, including manual polishing, assembly, oil spraying, coloring, silk screen printing, etc.
Oil spraying on prototypes has the following benefits:
1. It can cover up small defects in the appearance of prototype parts;
2. Oil spraying can achieve various colors, glossiness, and feel;
3. Enhance the hardness and wear resistance of prototypes; however, some prototypes Coloring is very difficult. For example, steel and PP materials are very difficult. After coloring, they do not stick very well and the color fades easily.
The materials used in prototyping are all the color of the material itself. If the customer needs a glossy effect, it must be achieved by post-injection injection. When spraying, our spray masters can adjust different colors and effects according to the different requirements of the customer's prototype.
There are two points to pay attention to when spraying oil on a prototype:
1) The coating thickness is 15~20μm, and it usually takes 2~3 sprays to complete. After one spray, let it dry for 15 minutes before spraying a second time.
2) Generally, metal paints are baked at 150℃-180℃for about 30 minutes; plastic paints are baked at 60-80℃for about 30 minutes; some special paints do not need to be baked.
