The Benefits of PhotosePnsitive Resin for 3D Printing

May 24 , 2023 | Blog

Mainly used for 3D printing are ABS, nylon, resin and other 3D printing materials, as well as gypsum, metal, food and some special medical materials. Which material is better?  In fact, familiar projects in the prototype industry all know that the specific material needs to be judged according to the actual situation, and cannot be generalized. If you don't know what material to use, you can choose to use photosensitive resin, which has the following advantages:

1.    The price of photosensitive resin is relatively cheap, and it is cost-effective to use as a prototype.

2.    High precision and moderate hardness. The highest precision of photosensitive resin can reach 0.05mm. The printed model has a high degree of restoration and smooth surface, unlike PLA printing with rough surface and low precision. And the hardness is moderate, and it is not easy to break when dropped on the ground.

3.     It can manufacture parts with complex shapes (such as hollow parts) and parts with particularly fine shapes (such as jewelry, handicrafts, etc.), and is suitable for various prototypes.

4.    The printing speed is fast, and printing photosensitive resin can be shipped faster than metal, ABS, nylon and other materials.

5.     Post-processing is simple. After printing, it can be sprayed according to customer's requirements.

To sum up, using photosensitive resin as a 3D printing prototype is cost-effective, fast, and convenient for post-processing. It is a very good material.
